Types of Roofs We Service
The most common single-layer membrane materials used in Flat Roofing Sacramento are TPO, PVC, EPDM, and Silicone Coatings. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Although many have their own opinions on which system is better than others, it really depends on the climate and area of the roofs location, the roof itself, and how it is used. Another thing to look at is the installation of the roofing material.

TPO
TPO is short for Thermo Plastic Olefin. The installation process can be done or mixed with glue, mechanically fixed or moved, and the joints are either glued or hot air welded. TPO looks like PVC film because both are white and offer energy savings. There can be several thicknesses of TPO.

EPDM
EPDM is short for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. EPDM is more of a rubber material that is mostly black, although white-on-black EPDM roofing was introduced due to the increase in popularity of cool roofs. The EPDM roof is installed with glue, but it can also be fixed mechanically and with ballast. Sometimes flat roofs with parapet walls are covered with stone over EPDM.

PVC
PVC is short for polyvinyl chloride. The PVC flat roof system has become more popular in many areas because the white film reflects UV rays so much. This system is mechanically fixed and sometimes moved to join and the seams are welded with hot air. Depending on the manufacturer, this membrane can be installed for flat roofs and their accessories, and most seams are welded in the factory to reduce seams that require hot welding. It is also available in multiple thicknesses from 40-80 mil.

Silicone Coatings
TPO is short for Thermo Plastic Olefin. The installation process can be done or mixed with glue, mechanically fixed or moved, and the joints are either glued or hot air welded. TPO looks like PVC film because both are white and offer energy savings. There can be several thicknesses of TPO.
